Our Story

Our mission is to support, promote, and advocate for the arts and cultural enrichment in the county.

We envision Clatsop County as an arts mecca,

where every community member's creativity has an outlet,

public art lives in abundance, low-cost art is accessible across demographics,

and the public is aware of the economic importance of art.

The council was originally established by Clatsop County

as an advisory committee to the Board of Commissioners.

In 2022, the council became a nonprofit entity,

although its goal remained the same: to serve and promote

the creative community of Clatsop County.

The Arts Council leads and participates in a variety of projects,

programs, and arts-related activities.
